We had a very nice 4th of July. We thought we would be moving this weekend, but we are still waiting on the processing of the loan. We are trying to remain patient. So, we started the 4th with a little appliance shopping. We met up with Nick's parents and went to Lowes. Thanks to all the 4th of July sales, we were able to get my dream fridge (stainless steel, french door with internal water) and a washer and dryer and we stayed within our budget.
From there we went to Scott and Becky's to have BBQ #1. Joshua played in his little kitchen, crawled around on the floor with the doggies, convinced his Grandma to let him get wet in the pool with his clothes on, and went up and down the stairs until it was obvious that he needed a nap. Once he woke up we headed out to Oroville because Mike, Shannon and the boys were in town. Mike and Sam were not ok with the fact that it was the 4th of July and we weren't having a BBQ (Mom didn't own one) so they set out to Home Depot to buy one. So, they came home with a BBQ and hamburgers and steaks and that became BBQ #2!
The fireworks were fun. It was just us out in front of my mom's house. Chris and Stevie did a nice job of setting them off and Joshua did very well staying out of the way. Once they started he was right on my lap where it was safe. At one point he covered his eyes and at another point he was covering his ears. We ended the night with Mom's homemade berry pie/soup.
It was a nice ending to a very nice day.

4 I've got something to say:
I'm glad you had a good 4th, but bummed for you that you still don't have a date to move?! Just face it, your stuck with 4th ward forever. J/K, I'm just gonna miss ya!! Can't wait to see the new cool appliances!
I was wondering about the progress of your house. I hope it all goes through soon. How annoying is that!!! I keep waiting to see it on your blog.
Fun! And that pie looks soooo good...
It would not have been soup had it been allowed to cool longer than a minute or two. The next day the "residue" looked just like pie. For your future information, all you young bloggers, berry pie must cool to room temp or just "warm"... that is if any of you even know how to make a pie. (tee hee). I know one of you who hasn't a clue...
