In the middle of tax season when Nick was working crazy hours and he hardly got to see the kids and our lives were go go go, we decided that once it was all over we'd take a trip...and we did. We drove to San Diego. We went to the zoo, wild animal park, beach, 3 triple D restaurants (that's a whole other post though), natural history museum and a train museum (guess who loved that). We had a wonderful time. It's not easy traveling with little ones, but they were champs. We've learned that charlee isn't a car sleeper, more like a car napper...she just couldn't get comfortable. Josh was excellent. We did watch Alvin and the chipmunks four times, however.
our hotel was right down on seaport village. so, once we got settled in we walked around, found a little place for dinner and ended the day with a carriage ride. so fun.

one of those, "let's take a family picture" moments...and it actually turned out. we're all in it, all looking. all eyes open and we're all almost smiling.
