what i'm good at today.

rain? really? on june 28th? crazy. i don't like it in january...and turns out that i don't like it in late june either. all our winter stuff is put away...where it should be. but, we went to the gym and josh really wanted to wear his rain boots...i told him that nobody wears rain boots when it rains in summer (a typical mom lie right?) and what do you know, when we get to the gym there were FOUR pairs of boots in the shoe cubbies. Josh looked at me like he'd been wronged and like I was the worst mom ever. so, I turned it around and let him make the choice to be ok with it, "well, should we go home for naps or do you think we should stay with the shoes you have on?" turns out, he decided that he didn't need rain boots today. that's what I thought. so, I have a new little project. nick makes fun of all the projects I get all wrapped up in. I already have a few orders...I love it. This one is for cyndi. Her birthday is tomorrow...and in typical Acebo fashion...I will mail it on her birthday so it will be late. sorry cyndi...(a "happy birthday" a day early makes a late gift ok, right?)

and these cookies. i started our marriage as a baker. occasional. fun. creative. and if it didn't turn out it was ok because it was a treat in the first place...but as the years have gone and these darn kids insist on eating multiple times a day and I've had to become more of a cook...like boring meals. But, I still enjoy baking the most...especially on the weird non-summer rainy days of june.
