common and flirty, she looks about thirty

I am thirty now. I feel the same, but I feel like people treat me differently now. Maybe they sense my wisdom seeping through or something...being 30.2 days old really is something you know:)
I always hear older woman say how they'd never want to go back and be their 20 year old self. why is that? my twenties were good. I don't feel like I spent a decade figuring a lot of things out. a lot has happend though. I met and married a good man. I graduated from college. I got my teaching credential. I had my first two babies. (30 year old angelee will probably have one more). we bought a house. bought the car that if I got to choose a car would be it. still have both my parents...good brothers. wonderful extended and new (that's you becky and stephanie) family. so. it's been a good ten years. nothing to complain about. maybe a few things like: I have more and more gray hair, 30 at one point seemed so old and so far away that I declared that I would start wearing comfort shoes at this age. now, i hardly seem like a likely shopper for johnson's shoes. Sam makes it a point to remind me that I'm close to entering the at-risk pregnancy age, I think the kids who hang out at the mall are punks and I hate to admit it, but I think I'm going to get those funky bunions on my feet like my mother has. I figure, if I'm this ok with myself now, the 50 year old angelee will be really cool. i'm documenting my age so that some day I'll look back and think, "ok. I wasn't that bad".
I knew it wouldn't work, but we still tried. An attempt to get a picture of me with Josh and Charlee.

oh yes. there are really 30 candles on that cake. I told them they should have bought a sheet cake if they wanted to get all of those on there.

josh loves his uncle sam. and uncle sam loves his josh.

so, the planning has begun. Joshua's birthday is officially the next birthday in the family. We've started practicing holding up 4 fingers and saying the word four. I hate to do another party, but the boy loves a party. how could we not.

5 I've got something to say:

I'll tell you now that you look good! AND I bet you will look great at 40 and 50 and on and on. Did you ever notice how sometimes you see a picture of yourself and think "I looked great that day" and then also remember that you also felt really happy that day? Coincidence, I think not!

That is a great picture of you. You should write out a list of things you want to accomplish before your forty and see how many of them you get done.

I just have to say that your hair looks GREAT! I was thinking about letting mine just grow out but I think your super cute do just made me change my mind. Who cuts your hair?

Just think about how easily you got up off of that brick patio today at the age of thirty. When you are fifty, you will think twice about getting down on that because getting back up is not all that easy!! You look great!!

I am already the poster girl for Johnson's shoes, so you'll have to find another job.
