new year, new me

I have been asking everyone around me what their new year resolutions are. I'm always interested in what people want to resolve to do to make them/or their life better. Partly that reason and partly I wanted to get ideas. I don't want to do the same old ones that I never stick to. I am already pretty happy with my gym going. I'm at the point that I like going and I miss it when I don't get to go. I'm happy with so much of my life. But, I do want to resolve to be a better person. and really find something to enjoy everyday. I know it seems so big and vague and...blah. But with 2011 I want to be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, member of the church, aunt, niece and journal-er. I used to write in my journal often. Then I starting blogging and now I am marginal at both. So. I am resolving to do better. I want to be more thoughtful. I want to be kind. I want to be a good listener. I want to be more patient with my children. I want to be more frugal. I want to eat more protein so I don't so many cookies. I want to practice my upper case cursive writing.
Some of my friends have heard my "just own it" speech. I like to believe that when I make a decision I go with it. If I don't think something is right, I say something. If I make my "&" backwards when I write, I know I do, but I just like them that way. But, I am going to start living it better. For Christmas I got a new pair of boots and some skinny jeans. I felt kinda silly wearing them and then we celebrated New Year's Eve's Eve and I wore my skinny jeans, but I didn't take my trench coat off all night. Nick called me Matrix. I didn't own my decision to wear them...why didn't I just own it. So. here and now I can admit some things. I like vinyl on my walls. I don't like jean on jean. I like square toed boots...not pointy. I don't think jeggings are very attractive on anybody over 12. I think nursing moms should cover up in public. I'll own those things.
