I won't say that I used to make fun of those parents, but I didn't fully understand those parents who would cry at a preschool or even a kindergarten graduation. Well, I've now lived through one of my children's first graduations and I get it now. I now understand where the emotion comes from. I didn't cry real tears, but I did feel myself entering that clouded blurred vision phase that could lead to the full on tears if one's not careful...It's pride. I was so proud of him. And since every child is different, there are tons of different reasons to be proud. But, for Josh... I am so proud of how far he has come. The fact that he wore his hat (at one point in his life that would have been too much to ask). The fact that he had a smile on his face. The fact that he has such good ideas and he's not afraid to repeat them until people understand. The fact he has a huge heart...and that he tells me that he loves me every single day. Without even knowing it, he has made me a better mom, wife, sister, daughter...person.
I think I will be a mess at his highschool graduation.
Joshua and his two preschool teachers. ms. stacy and ms. kerri. as they were giving Joshua his diploma he thanked them. she then said, "Joshua is so polite and I'm going to miss the kiss on top of my head that he gives me when I lean down to help him". He kisses his teachers on the head. What a sweetie.
(Side note: I'm always reminding Joshua to say thank you. I always say, "I shouldn't have to remind you." My mom heard and reminded me that he's only four and it's ok to be reminded to to use his manners. But, I believe manners are a learned behavior and I want my children to be known as polite children. And hearing that he was the only one that thanked his teacher for his diploma made me so proud...I think it's sinking in and hopefully I'm not being too mean of a mama)

He was so proud. The smile hasn't left his face all day. Especially since Grandma bought him "Mr. Incredible",as he calls it, as a graduation gift and we went to McDonald's for lunch and to the gym to play. How can a day get better than that?

The teacher talked about each child. He said that his favorite part of school was reading books and going to the library. He said that he has learned to give his friends their space and when he grows up he wants to be a super hero. Hope he's not too disappointed once he realizes that they're only pretend. Then again, I don't think Nick has realized it yet.

And, let's talk about my finale week...after all this is my blog and it's all about me. So so so happy about Scotty McHottie. My top four were paul, pia, james and scotty. glad one of them won. and I loved tim mcgraw and carrie underwood has the best legs...don't you think? And Olivia...on the biggest loser. so glad she won. I wanted america to vote jay back, but it all ended well. And John Rich...I was a fan of his. He was "in it to win it" from the beginning. But if I have to hear "St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital" one more time I might scream. Don't get me wrong, worthy cause, but he plugged it every chance he got! And I loved Meatloaf's meltdown...classic. And Oprah...I think she ended well. I like that she stayed true to her mission and how self reflective she is. I did cry...but I don't worship her...like Nick teases. but, he always says, "the church has been telling us to have food storage for years...and then Oprah says to do it and everybody runs out and stocks up". And now you're thinking, "man, is all you do is watch TV?" No, but I do love me some reality TV.
...and I love me this boy too!!!

5 I've got something to say:
About Oprah, I am a FAN. Not a WORSHIPER, a FAN. However, my husband teases me mercilessly about watching Oprah. What else am I supposed to watch in the middle of the day when I am folding laundry??
Plus, Josh is adorable, and I get it about tearing up, it is the pride.
It's true, he is such a polite boy and so cute!
I was soo happy Scotty won, he's been my favorite since day one, and when he sang with Tim Mcgraw I almost cried..sad but true! I loved it!
why scottie....he's so lame. not lame. I was a pia fan from the start and when she was gone I had hope for Lauren but she was just too annoying. and we had very similar weeks except for the apprenticed. Why haven't I blogged all week....way too many finales!
I like when you blog! Yay for Josh. He has accomplished so much you should be on proud mama.
You WILL be a mess at his High School Graduation - GUARANTEED.
ANd you watch a ton of TV!! just kidding :) I might have watched a few finales myself.
