sam had a birthday in may. he is getting older and wiser. in our family, sam's birthday has been known to bring bad luck...for years now, sam's birthday has been plagued with memories of terrible life events (strokes, miscarriages and such). this year was ok. we escaped the curse...by the skin of our teeth. we went to dinner and came back to our house for an ice cream cake and presents. 
sam is so good with josh. josh sure loves him. sam may not like being invited to sit in the back back of the car with josh everytime we go anywhere, but josh isn't inviting anybody else. deep down I hope sam loves it.
